When he was a young boy, the family packed up and moved to the charming town of Vicksburg, where his dad found work in commercial refrigeration. Manuel was joined by siblings Marveta, John, Rayletta, Joyce, Jeanne and James, with another brother, Eugene, who died as a child before Manuel was born. Manuel, as his family would call him, was the fifth of eight children in the Snook's Three Rivers home, where his father toiled as a bricklayer. Still, on December 21, 1935, Raymond and Lettie (Canavan) Snook found a little reason to celebrate during that lean Christmas, with the birth of a baby boy, a son they named Emanuel. Those were such tough times in this country, the eye of the storm of the Great Depression, as the worst was over yet more hardship was to come. Snook's story began on a snowy December day in 1935, as the holidays approached in Three Rivers, Michigan. Most of all, Snook was a man who always brought so much love, and laughter, into the lives of all who knew him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, a businessman and a blessing to the community he called home.
Emanuel Snook was a man with a quick wit, an easy laugh, a level head and an enormous heart.
